Our Beliefs

What We Believe

GOD

There is one and only one living and true God eternally existing in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. God the Father reigns with providential care over His universe, His creatures, and the flow of human history according to His purposes. God the Son in His incarnation as Jesus Christ was conceived of the Holy Spirit, born of a virgin, lived in sinless obedience, was crucified as the substitute for sinners, God raised Him from the dead, He ascended to the Father as Lord of all. He is the One Mediator, fully God, fully man, in whose Person has effected the reconciliation between God and man. God the Holy Spirit, fully divine, inspired the Scriptures; exalts Christ; convicts men of sin, righteousness and judgment, calls men to the Savior, effects regeneration and seals the believer for the day of redemption. This triune God, is infinite in holiness and perfection and is worthy of our highest worship, love, reverence and obedience.

JESUS CHRIST

Jesus Christ is the Son of God. He is co-equal with the Father and the Holy Spirit. Jesus lived a sinless human life and offered Himself as the perfect sacrifice for the sins of all who confess Him as Lord and Savior by dying on a cross. God raised Him from the dead after three days to demonstrate His power over sin and death. He ascended to Heaven in glory and will return again to earth to reign as King of Kings and Lord of Lords.

MAN

God made man in His own image, male and female, as the crowning work of His creation. Man has been separated from God because of original sin and is under condemnation. Only the grace of God can bring man into holy redemption, back into the family of God.

SALVATION

Salvation comes by grace alone through repentance and faith in Christ alone. God the Father sent His Son into the world, God the Son, Jesus Christ, obtained eternal redemption for the believer by His own blood. God the Holy Spirit regenerates sinners, by which they are justified, enabled in sanctification and glorified. Those whom God has accepted in Christ and sanctified by His Spirit will never fall away from the state of grace and are secure in their salvation for eternity.

THE SCRIPTURES

The Bible was written by men divinely inspired and revealed by God Himself. The Bible is without error and, therefore, totally true and trustworthy. It is a testimony to Christ, who is Himself the focus of divine revelation. It has salvation for its end and is the supreme standard by which all else is judged.

THE CHURCH

Following the pattern of the New Testament, the church of the Lord Jesus Christ is an autonomous local congregation of baptized believers, associated by covenant in the gospel, governed by Christ through his word, seeking to extend the gospel to the ends of the earth. The ordinances of the church are believer’s baptism by immersion and the Lord’s Supper. The New Testament speaks also of the church as the Body of Christ, which includes all of the redeemed of all ages, believers from every tribe and tongue and people and nation.

We are brothers and sisters in the Lord whom Jesus has commanded to Love one another as He has Loved us.
