Our Beliefs

What We Believe

GOD

There is one and only one living and true God eternally existing in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

God the Father reigns with providential care over His universe, His creatures, and the flow of human history according to His purposes.

God the Son in His incarnation as Jesus Christ who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of a virgin, lived in sinless obedience, was crucified as the substitute for sinners, God raised Him from the dead, He ascended to the Father as Lord of all. He is the one and only Mediator between people and God the Father. He is fully God and fully man and has made redemption between God and people possible.

God the Holy Spirit, fully divine, inspired what is written in the Bible, exalts Christ, convicts people of their sin, calls people to the Savior, Jesus and encourages believers in righteousness growth. The Holy Spirit seals the believer for the day of redemption.

This triune God is infinite in holiness and perfection and is worthy of our highest worship, love, reverence and obedience.

JESUS CHRIST

Jesus Christ is the Son of God. He is co-equal with the Father and the Holy Spirit. Jesus lived a sinless human life and offered Himself as the perfect sacrifice for the sins of all who confess Him as Lord and Savior by dying on a cross paying their sin debt. God raised Him from the dead after three days in the tomb demonstrating His power over sin and death. Jesus ascended to Heaven in glory and will return to earth reigning as King of Kings and Lord of Lords.

MAN

God made man in His own image, male and female, as the crowning work of His creation. Man has been separated from God because of original sin and is under condemnation. Only the grace of God can bring man into holy redemption, back into the family of God.

SALVATION

Salvation comes by grace alone through repentance and faith in Christ alone. God the Father sent His Son into the world, God the Son, Jesus Christ, obtained eternal redemption for the believer by sheading His own blood. God the Holy Spirit is the promised seal of redemption ensuring eternal life with the Lord.  Those whom God has accepted in Christ and sanctified by His Spirit will never fall away from the state of grace and are secure in their salvation for eternity.

THE SCRIPTURES

The Bible was written by men divinely inspired and revealed by God Himself, the Holy Spirit. The Bible is without error and, therefore, totally true and trustworthy. It is a testimony to Christ, who is Himself the focus of divine scripture. It points to salvation & redemption as its message and is the standard by which all else is judged.

THE CHURCH

Following the pattern of the New Testament, the church founded on Jesus Christ is an autonomous local congregation of baptized believers, governed by Christ through His word the Bible, seeking to extend the salvation message of redemption (The Gospel), to all peoples.

The ordinances of the church are believer’s baptism by immersion and the Lord’s Supper.

Believers' baptism is the immersion of a believer in water. It is an act of obedience symbolizing the believer's faith in a crucified, buried, and risen Saviour, Jesus Christ. It is symbolic of the believer's death to sin, the burial of the old life, and the resurrection to walk in newness of life in Christ Jesus.

The Lord's Supper is a symbolic act of believers remembering the sacrifice Jesus made on behalf of all mankind. The bread representing His broken body and the juice representing His poured-out blood.

The New Testament speaks of the church as the Body of Christ, which includes all of the redeemed from all ages, believers from every tribe and tongue, all people who have trusted Jesus as Lord and Savior.

We are brothers and sisters in the Lord whom Jesus has commanded to love one another as He has loved us.
